Graeme Rogerson is one of the world's most successful and gifted racehorse trainers and a superb judge of thoroughbred talent. Adopting a truly global approach to horse training, Graeme has stables in New Zealand and Sydney.
In 2004 Graeme's immense contribution to the New Zealand racing industry was recognised when he was bestowed with the honour of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Graeme considers this award to be one of his greatest achievements.
His life has been devoted to building one of the most unique racehorse training operations in the world. A prolific trainer of Group 1 and classic horses, Graeme's recognition as a trainer is confirmed by the fact that many leading owners have placed their horses in his care. He was the first New Zealand trainer to set up a stable in Australia when he established his base in Sydney.
Communicating with owners is something Graeme specialises in and events such as regular open days are part of the benefit of having a horse in one of his stables. When it comes to training racehorses there are few who can match the outstanding record of the Rogerson Racing Stables.
As well as winning eleven New Zealand premierships and New Zealand Racing Personality of the Year (1991), Graeme was also leading Randwick trainer in one season and has figured in the top 10 ever since.
A Global Vision
In 1991 Graeme became the youngest trainer to prepare 1000 New Zealand winners and not long after, notched up his 2000th winner. Long before his contemporaries, he recognised the opportunities the rest of the world had to offer. Graeme has raced horses with success in United States, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Britain, New Zealand and Australia.
